Moreover, most relate external national security to national defence and internal national security to public order and the proper functioning of each state. Other scholars express the opinion that national security is also related to demographics, economy, public health, energy supplies, food supplies, critical infrastructure, cyberspace, etc. What is your opinion?

It is important to take a comprehensive and holistic approach to national security that takes into account the various factors that can influence a country's security and well-being.
National security generally focuses on the comprehensive protection of a nation's interests, assets, and values, including its sovereignty, territorial integrity, economic prosperity, political stability, and social well-being, against all types of threats, both internal and external. National security is seen as a multifaceted concept that encompasses not only military defense, but also non-military aspects such as economic, environmental, and social security. In this sense, national security is not limited to the protection of physical borders, but also includes the protection of intangible assets such as information, knowledge, and human capital. Scholars also emphasize the importance of balancing national security with other values such as civil liberties, human rights, and democratic principles, and the need for a comprehensive and integrated approach to national security that involves all stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society, and the private sector.
National security refers to the protection, preservation and develop of a nation's sovereignty, territory, citizens, and interests against external and internal threats. For example, the rights and freedom of citizens are affected by the use of force (equally to the use of military personnel), and militarised police forces to control public behavior; the use of surveillance, including mass surveillance in cyberspace, which has implications for privacy; likewise, military recruitment and conscription practices, and the effects of warfare on civilians and civil infrastructure.
The concept of national security can be based on identified national interests (NIs). NI's are generally broad based and promulgated as a form of strategic communication. Hence, everything and anything that falls under the ambit of one or more NI's is a national security concern, which makes defining national security a difficult task, if not an impossible one. It would be better to look at the term as a concept (which is the reason I started my input calling it a concept) as it provides flexibility in both domestic and international debates.
National security includes striving to protect the basic values of states such as sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, and ensuring survival in general from a realistic perspective. However, the matter is currently expanding so that national security is not limited to these elements, but rather extends to achieving security in its broadest sense, through the achievement of economic well-being for its citizens. Avoiding financial crises, working to confront epidemics and diseases, and ensuring social and cultural cohesion in the face of various ideologies, ideas and values coming from abroad.
Simply regard national security as safety of a state from every forms of threats be it internal or external.
As security is a constructive phenomena, it is much more than safeguarding, protection and prevention of something from someone. National security is about the protection core values and national interest. It is also emphasis on development of a nation and projection of national image in international scenario.
National security is a multi-domain and comprehensive term and can be categorized as full capacity and capability of nation to protect vital interest and defend itself from (perceived existential and main) threats, risks and challenges of modern operational environment.
National Security is described as the safety of a national against threats such as terrorism, war, etc. It also includes minimization of crime, economic security, energy security, environmental security, food security and cyber security.
It is the duty of the government to ensure the safety and security of its citizens.
