i isolated phages from sewage against to pseduomonas sps, and i am subjected to TEM , negative staining with uranyl acetate , morphologically that phages belonging to siphoviridae, my dought is how can we know the family of that particular phages , please tell me your valuble suggestion about the question. please.

Currently accepted families of tailed phages are based on morphology (so if you cannot observe tail contraction it is a Siphovirus). This approach may be outdated, but we are stuck with it (until next major reclassification at least). It is the genus that makes real problem. Most people just sequence a phage and use phylogenetic (eg. phyml analysis of terminase gene) or phylogenomic (eg. gegenees, clans) methods. If the phage is interesting enough, rapid whole genome sequencing in dedicated company shouldn't be too expensive (several hundreds of $).
