In antennas the radiation box size is at lambda/4 on each side from the substrate. But in case of Filter what should be the size of applied radiation box and whether all surfaces will assign perfect E boundary?
Hello Naveen, this depends on the geometry, there may be no need for an air box (radiation boundary) at all. Usually I use PEC/PMC in CST. If you provide your geometry then I can provide you with the correct answer.
Thanks Sameer Sharma.. Actually i know that there is no need to add radiation box but the cavity which you mentioned, should be of a fixed height like in antennas lambda/4, i was searching that height. Thanks a lot for your suggestion.
Generally filters are backed by the cavity in order to increase quality factor and for better transmission as well. So, before designing you will require cavity dimensions. Cheers and best of luck.
