In my opinion, although it may be useful as a tool for diagnosis of parasitic diseases , molecular biological itself unlikely to lead to the control of food borne trematodes such as Opisthorchis spp. Control measures should be integrated, involving diagnosis and treatment of infected peoples, but especially health education and sanitation. In this sense, molecular study can be useful for identification of naturally infected hosts (snails, fish and mammals).
