Educational psychologists can help in various fields within the school environment . Can help the development process of children and youth ( developmental psychology ) , helping teachers better understand the processes by which learning can be enhanced . Already there are , for example , a lot of knowledge produced within the processes of reading and writing and the construction of numbers by children, for example . Yet, as children may differ in their learning styles and understanding of multiple intelligences and the connections of this theory with the education and learning processes . May also help to better understand children with learning problems or disorders like attention deficit , dyslexia and other , and can help understand children with behavioral or emotional problems .
Another field of action of educational psychologists can relate to the school environment ( school climate , for ex . ) , and the operation of the school as an organization or human system and interactions between people . Can help managers motivate and work an educational environment among the various actors in the educational process ( social psychology ) which can be very useful for schools .
One of the problems I see , however, the work of educational psychologists is a tendency to pathologize certain attitudes and behaviors. It is a danger that can be contained with critical processes and activities more suited protocols ( process control ) .
