How does the interaction of an oil droplet change with the nature of a surfactant (anionic, non-ionic) in chemical flooding processes and what is its effect on the interfacial tension between the aqueous and oil phases? Any publications in this regard would be great too. Thanks for the time.
I'm surprised that someone at Texas A & M asks that question :-). Much of the foundation work on surfactant flooding was done there by W. (Bill) Wade and Robert (Bob) Schechter. Google Scholar shows dozens of papers by these guys on all aspects of surfactant flooding. You can get one key pdf on Researchgate: Salager, Morgan, Wade and Schechter, 1979: "Optimum formulation..." Read this and work from there. Also grab a copy of "Improved oil recovery by surfactant and polymer flooding", edited by Shah & Schechter, reprinted in 2012.
