For the research background, i have one dependent variable and 4 independent variables. My data are from five companies taken from 2016-2020. From what I understood (which is also based on our research problem/objective), I should get the mean (and others) for the data of the first independent variable out of the five company per year, then compare these data taken per year. And that will be applied for the rest of the independent variables. Now, I'm quite unsure how to perform multiple regression analysis for testing the significance of the relationship and I just want to clarify if I'm doing the right thing for the independent variables. @Karla looking at your query, your data seems to be panel (Rows × Columns) thus you should look to use Panel Regression Analysis using either Eviews or STATA.
Just to clarify: Do you have 5 independent variables or a single independent variable (Company) with 5 levels? (e.g., Company 1, Company 2, Company 3, Company 4, Company 5).
As the previous questions show, much is unclear about your data. Perhaps you could do a screen capture of the data file and upload the image to clarify things. Like Imran Anwar, I am suspicious that you have panel data (aka., longitudinal data), with multiple (probably annual) measures of the DV for each independent unit of analysis. But you should clarify this so readers are not left to guess. HTH.
