There is a method to measure chromosome-specific telomere length called STELA. In that method, one chromosome-specific primer anneals to the sub-telomeric sequence and the whole telemere is then amplified by PCR using another primer that anneals to a ligated segment at the end of telomere. We followed the paper and it only led us to the sub-telomeric sequence of p17. I wonder if there is a database for sub-telomeric sequences of other chromosomes as well.
Can't you just look in the human draft genome sequence at the end of chromosomes using for examnple the UCSC genome browser ?
I've never heard of anywhere that lists sequence as "sub-telomeric" but I would just use UCSC's genome browser, as someone mentioned above, find the start of the telomeric sequence and then look just upstream for your sub-telomeric sequence.
