at first its better to develop a 1 or 2 degree dynamic model of your vehicle for longitudinal performance. then a simple model of your engine, Battery and motors.
although most researchers focus on fuel cell.
then using an invert dynamic and a road profile you can simulate the behavior of your assumed vehicle. I have two paper on optimal control, you can fin them in my profile. you can learn more from their references.
