I am using NetSim and would like to know how to obtain the above for each gNB-UE pair in a simulation. I assume they would vary with time and hence need time stamps also. Can I enable link adaptation? How does that work in 5G?
In NetSim logs such as radio measurements and resource allocation logs can be enabled from the GUI prior to the simulation start. Post-simulation these logs can be accessed from the results dashboard. The radio measurements log contains parameters such as the transmit power, losses, received power, interference, SNR, SINR, MCS, etc logged with respect to time for each gNB-UE pair, channel, carrier, and layer.
NetSim supports Outer Loop Link adaptation which takes a BLER target as input. Initially, the MCS is guessed. Subsequently, the MCS is dynamically adjusted based on an outer-loop link adaptation algorithm that uses HARQ ACK-NACK messages.
Rate adaptation has two parts, an inner loop adaptation where the SINR measured by the user is used as an anchor to determine the transmission rate. This transmission rate is fed back, and OLLA is used to make appropriate corrections to this transmission MCS.
And also look at this. It explains how you can utilize the log file to generate various charts https://support.tetcos.com/support/solutions/articles/14000141188-how-to-obtain-sinr-mcs-and-throughput-vs-time-for-a-5g-1gnb-1ue-scenario-with-a-time-varying-radio-
Obtaining BLER can be a little more challenging. It is explained in https://support.tetcos.com/support/solutions/articles/14000140983-obtaining-bler-vs-time-in-netsim-5g-when-running-olla-
