For concerned people who have worked on Shape memory polymer, might know that the shape is recovered when we heat the structure. This is the last part of the SMP thermo-mechanical cycle.
My doubt:
Since Abaqus UMAT is a strain driven process, I am rather confused as to how should i dictate the material to recover. Technically, it means having the hold of the DSTRAN variable so that I can reduce STRAN.
Now both STRAN and DSTRAN are handled by Abaqus and are said to not to be fiddled with in the reference manual.
So how should I solve this problem of recovering the SMP shape?
