We have computed pressure field of a supersonic jet using numerical simulation. We want to validate the results with experimental results. We have acoustic data at certain location and angle from the exit of the nozzle. The sound waves generated at far downstream of the jet will be reaching the microphone at different angles (more than 90 degree). How can I correlate the experimental results with numerical results?
Use beamforming methods, ideal for such scenarios. Adaptive beamforming methods such as Capon and MUSIC would do a great job!

There are two ways for reaching your goal. The first is the direct computation od pressure fluctuation, obtained from an explicit solver (maybe Lagrangian). It is the easiest but the hardest (both in terms of computational effort and time).

As I understand that you would like to measure the directivity of the noise (pattern), you may also use a directional microphone (commercially available tube microphones of, for instance, 1 m length, with small opening angles) and compare the SPLs at various angles.
Directivity of sound radiation is defined as angular dependence of radiated acoustic field (e.g. sound pressure) at the same sufficiently large distances from the source and at a given frequency. The latter condition implies that directivity is defined only for time-harmonic fields. In practical terms, this means that for broadband sources there will be a number of directivity patterns for frequencies within the spectrum.
