I have trouble making Arabidopsis lyrata plants bolt in laboratory conditions. I will appreciate any suggestions about temperature or light cycles etc.
Lyrata often requires vernalization before it will flower. How long did you expose it to cold? I think typically you need a 4wk exposure around 6 weeks after germination. I would recommend looking at this paper for long vs short days: http://www.amjbot.org/content/91/7/1036.long
Also, it makes a difference if you know the accession you are working with, since the above paper looks at how higher latitudes of origin can affect flowering time in different daylight regimes. Hope that helps.
