I have not taking cognisance of any possibility of infringing Journal rights to archiving for long. I wish to know:
1. If there are faster ways of identify Journals who does not support self-archiving
2. The real time consequences of doing otherwise (personal experiences would be appreciated).
3. Suggestions to increase published manuscript visibility when deal with Journals that does not allow self-archiving.
The journal should address this question in its guide for authors section. Often it is at the bottom of the page, after the address style and formatting. Often it is labeled as Copyright information.
In my experience MOST journals will allow you to post a pre-press version of the manuscript, i.e. the final version you sent to them before typesetting. But you still need to check.
Even if you are not allowed to self-archive, you can still post abstract and citation information, such as here in ResearchGate.
