I'm recording local field potentials in fairly long (several minutes) continuous gap-free recordings. I've tried converting the data from .abf to .ibw with Stimfit, but the .ibw files are converted into sweeps that I then have to stitch back together. Is there a way to convert/import the .abf files into Igor so that it remains in one continuous trace?
It has been a long time since I have done this—but I think I exported to excel and then copied from there into igor. You may have to tell Igor how many data points you have beforehand, I remember that being weird.
The neuromatic pluggin for Igor (http://www.neuromatic.thinkrandom.com/) allows you to import .abf files directly into Igor. I believe it is free to download.
There is an extension available at Wavemetrics (https://www.wavemetrics.com/project/bpc_ReadAbf) that loads ABF files 1.0 and 2.0. It runs on Igor 32 bits under Windows 32 or 64 bits (no Macs). There are more detailed instructions on the website.
