i am working on bf slags, can any one give a step by step procedure, how to find out liquidus temperature for the above mentioned quaternary slag by using factsage software..
May be one should start by gaining confidence in the calculation of the equilibrim conditions between two phases at fixed pressure: a liquid phase of fixed chemical composition and a solid phase. The liquidus temperature would correspond to the case where we have negligible amounts of the solid phase.
One may then go on and try a calculation in which a liquid of fixed composition is cooled at constant preesure until one gets equilibrium with the "first" solid. The corresponding equilibrium temperature would be the liquidus temperature for that specific composition.
