I have grafted Glycidyl Methyl Acrylate (GMA) on polyethylene, and then I immersed these grafted fiber in polyamine solution for 4 h 90OC. and I want to know whether the epoxide ring opening of GMA reaction is taken place or not?
I meant that the polyamine is reacted with epoxide group of GMA, I want to prove this with FTIR. So I have done FTIR test after these reactions and I find two peaks around 3500-3800 and another peak around 2000-2500.what are these peaks? is the peak around 3500-3800 hydroxyl peak? I meant after the polyamine opens the epoxide group of GMA, hydroxyl group is formed. So the peak around 3500-3800 is hydroxyl indicating the success of epoxide ring opening of glycidyl methyl acrylate by polyamine. Is it true?what about the peak around 2000-2500 and the prak 3500-3800?
I need some articles in these fields if they are available.
Thanks,
