i prepared 100 mg/ml of stock solution using 99.9% DMSO. When, I found 99.9% DMSO killed the test bacteria in the broth macrodilution, I diluted the 99.9% DMSO to 2%, and found safe for the growth of bacteria. Would any one tell me how to calculate the concentration of the plant extract when I start with the stock solution and diluted at 2% concentration of DMSO?
If I understood it correctly, you diluted the stock solution 49.95x (99.9/2). Then, the concentration of plant extract would be 2.002 mg/mL after making the same dilution to achieve 2% DMSO.
For this type of calculation, just use the following formula:
initial concentration x initial volume = final concentration x final volume
Dear Dr Morira. Thank you for your interest. I dissolved 100 mg of plant extract in 1 ml of 99.9% of DMSO. I took 0.1 ml from the 100 mg/l and further diluted using 1 ml of 2% DMSO. My question, how much is this concentration it will be?

100 mg/mL x 0.1 mL = 1.1 mL x Final concentration mg/mL
Final concentration = 9.09 mg/mL
