How do I determine copy number of the 18S gene in the Amoeba DB?

Hi guys,

I am trying to determine how my parasites I have in a sample using a standard curve of trophs. I am looking at the 18S gene, but for the normalization I am thinking copy number is important.

Have you tried qPCR? If not, is a way to go.
