A cool mind is always a productive mind. However, we have never been taught as how to discipline/control our mind. Never at school, college or workplace. So how do I control my mind in order to be a cool tempered person for becoming more. creative, innovative and productive?

I suspect we need our minds to be cool, hot, relaxed, alert, dreamy etc rather depending on what we want it to do!

The word is focus. There are people with one-track minds. How do they do that? They simply focus on the relevant things they need to do and concentrate on them. They think those things and see everything else in those things.
With some people, the inability to control their thoughts wandering and mind losing focus can be attributed to chemical imbalances with symptoms akin to ADHD traits. If that is the case it is wiser to consult a medical professional and receive medication. When those symptoms are under control it is much easier to use techniques such as yoga, meditation, guided imagery, and many other techniques to further hone in on controlling the mind and being at peace with the surroundings.

Jaydip Datta thanks for your answer: The Body - The main control of your mind. Then an obvious logical question is: Whether mind controls the body or body controls the mind?
Self-control is an essential self-management skill that requires a lot of descipline, practice, and determination.
I agree for all the excellent responses above. Therefore, the mind control is a multi-tasking of form of meditation, medication, body control, self rawness and determination.

Dear sir, I think controlling the mind only keep us cool and composed at some perspective. But to be more creative and productive in life we need the space of darkness, silence and solitude which is only imagination for us at present day. I found myself productive when m far away from the present monotonous and tiresome society. To produce some productive thoughts we must captive ourself in the zone of reality-beyond this quantitative world.
Human being is open system which exchange matter ,energy and information with an environment.
That means one can control his mind only in co evolution with his surroudings by means of signals those receive from environment carring positive and negative contents.
His innate operating informative system processes received information and creates behavior. Individual must thinks between control and disorder, at the edge of chaos, if to be creative and innovative creating satisfaction and peace in his soul.

Reason, intelligence, intelligence, intelligence, wisdom, are different degrees of expression of the same mental capacity of man. When a policeman stops a car, he acts differently than a soldier on the battlefield. The soldier damages the car and it stops. The policeman gives the command to the driver to stop the car and he does it. The mind itself is not active and there is no need to control it. Desire and will give activity to the mind. This means to pass into a higher form of consciousness, in which desires will not be realized as their own. In this state of consciousness, man is in a state of Olympian calm and his mind is completely under his control.

Когда полицейский останавливает машину, он действует иначе, чем солдат на поле боя. Солдат повреждает машину и она останавливается. Полицейский дает команду водителю, чтобы он остановил автомобиль и он это делает. Разум сам по себе не является активным и его нет необходимости контролировать. Активность разуму придают желания и воля. Воля и желание являются водителями машины разума. Вот их и надо контролировать, дав им команду остановить спонтанную активность. Тогда разум и сам остановится и окажется од полным контролем. Но чтобы дать эту команду желаниям необходимо осознать их как нечто внешнее по отношению к своей личности. Причем не просто понять это, а именно так и осознать. Это означает перейти в высшую форму сознания, при которой желания не будут осознаваться как собственные. В этом состоянии сознания человек находится в состоянии Олимпийского спокойствия и его разум находится у него полностью под контролем.
I see a lot of discussion on controlling the mind. I don't think that is the point. The main idea is to make the mind an irrelevant slave. Our identification with our mind is the core issue. We are neither our body or our mind. This separation is the beginning of the self realization. Let the mind be the monkey that it is. Decide whether it should follow your intent or you follow its desires. Please read Eckhart Tolle.
