I have seen in literates that the weight percent of Uranium is 91 % but my calculations give me 95%. How do i know the number of atoms of uranium and Molybdenum.
The average atomic weight of uranium with 19.75% enrichment is:
MU = 235×0.1975 + 238×0.8025 = 237.41
Mass of U9 is: 237.41×9 = 2136.69
hence the mass of “compound” U9MoAln is:
2136.69/0.91 = 2348.0
Hence, the masses of Mo and Al are:
2348.0 – 2136.69 = 211.31
Subtracting the mass of molybdenum, we know the weight of aluminum in “compound”:
211.31 – 95.94 = 115.37
It is equal :
115.37/26.98 = 4.27 atomes of Al
hence, in your fuel per 1 "molecule" of U9Mo there will be 4.27 aluminum atoms: U9MoAl4.27.,
and: 2136.69/(4.27×26.98 + 2136.69 + 95.94) = 0.91, or 91% of U.
The slight variation might be due to the inconsistency in the nuclear data used. Please check the mass of uranium and molybdenum used.

9 in U-9Mo-Al dispersed fuel is wt% of Mo.
U-9Mo wire fuel has 9%wt Mo and 91%wt U or U-10Mo has 10%wt Mo and 90%wt U.
U-9Mo-Al dispersed fuel has 9%wt Mo and 91%wt U and Al.
