i am trying to calculate the efficiency of my maximum power point tracking controller i am using trapz instruction to integrate the controller output power and integrate the model maximum power. i am using simulink the problem is the integration of the maximum power is lower than the integration of using the controller ? so the efficiency is more than 100% the only problem is the controller output power vector has more points than the maximum power calculated ? can anyone have an idea on trapz instruction or can help

The criterion which is unavoidable, at my point of view, is to measure the controller performances as anyone: minimize the tracking error. In your case it is the real tracking error, i.e. the difference between the sun position and the one returend by your output sensor (if any !).
The remainder is only the way your take into account this error in your control law: directly minimizing the error through a regulateur in a loop, our minimize a criterion, ...
By the way , in the litterature, in order to characterize the performances of your controller, several classical indices are used (and recomanded) such as the LS error,

I suggest simply to divide the actual output power from the solar sell over the expected output power from it. As an example, if you have a solar cell which generates 1KW at 1KW/m^2 and 25C, and your MPP controller extracted 950W. So the efficiency in this case for your controller is 950/1000*100=95%.
