I am dealing with buoyancy driven convective heat loss from a cavity by using CFX with ht e help of 2 different turbulence models (SST and Spalart Allmaras).. Now I want to provide some free stream velocity. (Let say 5m/s).. In CFX, for this mixed convection:
1) Is there any option to check the amount of both convection separately or not?
2) can I use steady state simulation for 5 m/s? or I have to used transient case?
3) If I am using transient case, how can I find the value of convective heat loss?? as it will be time based, not the steady state.

You can calculate convection interms of heat transfer coefficient at particular section. by means of basic formula h=q''/(Tw-Tm) . for any particular section calculate q'' by mass weighted average and get ouput of wall temperature and mean fluid temperature by mass weighted average at that location.
by knowing those you can calculation natural and forced convection .
