I am working with a simulation to analyse the flow pattern and heat transfer characteristics over a solar cavity. flow pattern studies is now completed, but I am not able to use Large eddy simulation in ANSYS. Is there any external link is required or I can use it directly using ANSYS 15?
Hi Muhammad,
To my knowledge, you do not need any external setup to switch on to LES in Fluent. Make sure your mesh is suitable as per the LES requirements (ANSYS manual) in terms of refinement and system computationally capable of performing the task.
You should be able to see the option as long you are switched on the 3D mode and usually doesn't appear on 2D as it doesn't seem practical for a 2D case.

I would like to mention to take care for any required UDF programming-compiling (directly into the Fluent environment) for your transient conditions, if necessary. This would probably affect the mesh-timestep selection, as well.
