Hello sir, im struggling with *.output file from ns2voip++ traffic generator. I currently working on ns2 simulation for audio communication, from ns2voip++ its generate *.output file with binary format (i think).
How do i calculate MOS from this file?
or im must manually calculate it with R factor calculation?
any reply will be very appreciated

I think you have to calculate PSNR than you can calculate the "Mean Opinion Score" (MOS) based on your output file. There are some correlation between PSNR and MOS:
such that if PSNR > 37 dB this mean that MOS = 5 (excellent)...etc.

I've read the paper you suggest, theres no mention about MOS calculation for the communication.

I am sorry to inform you that PSNR is used to measure the performance of video. However, Perceptual evaluation of speech quality (PESQ) is preferred to measure the performance of voice. You can see the following references about relation of MOS and PESQ over VOIP:
