I am doing a competing risks regression for Diabetic Retinopathy. Several studies have used 1-SD to estimate the unit change in Hazard Ratio. How is this different from Standard Deviation?.
Survival analysis corresponds to a set of statistical approaches used to investigate the time it takes for an event of interest to occur. When you determine the standard deviation for the covariate and you are interested in setting the range, then you can talk about 1 or 2 or 3 standard deviations. The calculations are attached. I don't know the software you used but that for SPSS is attached.
