I found my extract with good cytotoxic and anti-oxidant property. It also have good bacterial invasion rate for both gram (-) & (+). Please suggest a procedure.
test it on human cell line for prostate cancer..use mtt assay..this is the easiest assay
Check the cytotoxicity on PC3 and DU145 cell lines. These will also test the androgen dependency as these are androgen independent cell lines. Then you can test on LNCaP cell lines which are androgen dependent. These cell lines will give you a clear idea about your extract having anticancer activity or not.
In order to analyze effect of a crude extract on prostate cells, the firststep is the optimization of the test compound. Because it is a crude extract, I suggest you lyophilization of this extract. Then you can try it for repeated experiments.
PC3, Du145, LnCAP cells are suitable as human prostate cell lines. PNT-1 can be used as healthy prostate cell line for cytotoxicty experiments.
