Here, there are two factors, the cotton variety (with two levels, each one consisted by a certain cotton variety) and the treatment [with four levels, each one consisted by a certain treatment, (including control)]. Thus, a first approach is to examine if there is an interaction between these two factors using the two-factor completely randomized design. From the menu 'Analyze' of SPSS Statistics Data Editor (menus are in fact the same independently of SPSS version) go to the choice 'General Linear Model' and from there to 'Univariate'. In this case, the 'fixed factors' are the two aforementioned factors and the model the 'full factorial'. The 'dependent variable' is the measured variable. If there is an interaction, you may proceed to find which one of the two varieties is distinctively better than the other for a specific treatment, which has sense. One widely used test for the comparison of means is the Tukey's HSD test which, in general, distinguishes satisfactorily the differences of means. If no interaction is clear, you may proceed with the comparison of main effects (only in the case of significance). The prerequisite to start satisfactorily is to 'construct' the data file appropriately, taking into account the number of plant-replicates.

you can use SPSS with T test because there have 2 varieties. i understood that you wanna find difference between 2 varieties

Method described by Mr. Aristidis Matsoukis is very pragmatic and verily the best to infer two factorial design under RCBD in SPSS. You can also draw descriptive statistics by calculating one way ANOVA which I guess rather easy to handle and infer. Best of luck.

I am working on a project where I am dealing with four different conditions. thats I am putting samples containing milk and cassava in plastic and container for storage under refrigerated and ambient conditions to determine the viability and effects of the conditions (plastic and glass, cassava and milk, and refrigerated and ambient) on the samples. I took measurements on every 24hours and 48hours every seven days for a period of one month. now I have available data but don't know how to go about with the analysis. I am familiar with sass.
