Hello,

At the moment I'm writing my Master Thesis about family firms, past knowledge and innovation. As described in former literature, family firms seem to have a very strong link with the past. However, as De Massis et al. (2016) state in their article, it is not totally clear to what extent family firms should rely on past knowledge when innovating. It is the goal of my research to understand how family firms find a balance between the past and the present.

I'm doing a multiple case study at 4 paint & coatings firms in the Netherlands (Industry is known for innovativeness & high number of family firms). However, I'm struggling a little bit with the development of theoretical propositions and a questionnaire from the available literature.

Any tips on how to create this questionnaire would be very helpful!

Kind regards,
