Dear Sir, The greatest number of papers you will find in relation to high temperature as an inhibiting factor to fruit set especially in the tropics during the hot season. The World or Asian Vegetable Center has studied this extensively. The work I have done shows this abortion issue is more prevalent in large fruited varieties. The large fruited varieties are also more sensitive to blossom end rot so the use of stimulant and nutrients at the onset of flowering may have an adaptive potential. Some thoughts would be to review the information starting with The World or Asian Vegetable Research Center in Taiwan. PRH
