I need to dissolve a beta-CCB (a beta carboline) to inject in rats. This compound is soluble in DMSO. I want to avoid this dissolution because I want not use DMSO in the animals (not any concentration). Somebody told me that I can use A-vitamin. But, I need more information in this respect or another recomendations. Thanks a lot.

You're rigth Mark Campbell, the DMSO has several uses in life systems. My trouble is that the solubility of the compound (in DMSO) its very high respect at the doses normally used of DMSO in biological systems or whole animals (without negative effects). Just like said Salim Y Hanna, I will use a mix of wather/alcohol and try whit this. If you have more suggestions, wellcome that. Thank you very much guys.

A ternary co solvent will be better to maximize the drug solubility so u can try a system such as PEG 400 30% /ethanol 30%/water 40% ; another option is complexation with a cyclodextrin safe for parenteral administration (HydroxyPropyl Beta CD or SulfoButylEther 7 BCD)
