Reservoir Simulation
Fractional Flow equations, which make use of Darcy’s law, for describing the movement of oil and brine in an oil reservoir, being among the most relevant mathematical models in reservoir simulation, if Elliptic equation represents the distribution of pressure and the hyperbolic part describes the evolution of saturation front, then, how different would the application of a Hyperbolic-Elliptic System to solve a fractional two-phase flow model in an oil reservoir?
How does the above model would remain to differ with reference to errors and order of accuracy?
(a) from the conventional one based on two parabolic equations; and
(b) from that of the classical Buckley-Leverett model?
