The lockdown, social distancing, overuse of technology, compulsive living, fear of adversity, etc. have directly affected human relationships. I aspire for your opinion in this regard and solutions for sound human relations.
Extremely interesting questions. I think that Covid 19 and pandemic-induced isolation, fear of illness or loss of income and alienation have had a major impact on modern societies.
I think that young people in particular will suffer the negative effects of this isolation. It disrupts the cycle of interaction, social development and will change the way in which social contacts are made/preserved. It also means the dominance of communication and interaction based on technology... The consequences can be far-reaching...
I think it's important to keep in mind particularly the ways in which different age groups are being affected. As Helena said in her reply above, young people are affected in the sense of being socialised in an entirely new way, relying much more on technology than the previous generations - and, of course, having their insertion into the job market jeopardised because of the reduction of new job positions, loss of income, the precarisation of work that rapidly increased with the pandemic, etc. On the other hand, young people can still make use of the communication technologies they grew up with, which includes online social media. Older people, by contrast, may be more isolated in the sense of not deploying such technologies to keep in contact with their friends and family on a regular basis. Therefore, social distancing for young people may mean a life more digital than ever, while, for the elderly, it may mean an even more intense isolation.
Bodh, I think that despite the fact that COVID-19 has exposed humanity to adversity, a feeling of uncertainty, death, misery, isolation and so on, it has also highlighted how important it is to pool together as a community, to look out for each other, to be more caring and giving and above all to be a little bit more human if we are to finally overcome this pandemic. Interesting...
Covid-19 brought in less human interactions, suffering socially, psychologically and financially. It brought more misery to those who were depending on others for their survival. Increased stress levels is also likely to have been experienced especially during lockdowns
I concur with all that has been said. While Covid-19 may have come with negative implications, it has also served as a wake-up for people to come up with varied ways of ensuring survival. We are witnessing hidden talent emerging especially among the youth who are coming up with innovative ways that can help turn around the economy. We have also learnt the value of relationships.
Man is a social in nature which helps to develop healthy society. COVID-19 affected human relations as every body tries to remain away from each other to avoid infections. It has social, educational and economical impacts due to loss of jobs.
Covid 19 has affected human relations diversely by giving value to personal relations and in-person communications. 2 years of lockdown, people have been prisoned within their homes. They need space to talk, laugh and breathe in the air now.
