let's suppose that we want to prepare activated carbon from an organic precursor that it has some heavy metals and after the pyrolysis i think that the obtained biochar is contaminated with heavy metals the question is
how could we remove the heavy metals and the other impurities from obtained biochar by pyrolysisof precursor ?
Heavy metals and other soluble impurities from biochar can be removed through solid-liquid extraction using suitable desorbing solvents. You may find following literature useful for selecting solvents and efficient separating conditions

Try use concentrated HCl acid if the impurities are iron oxides for example, or any other acids that would wash away the inorganic compounds in your AC. Use of ultrasound bath can be beneficial too,
Depending on the type of the metals, an appropriate concentration and acid type will do the job excellently, such that the reaction will wash off the metals on separation conditions.
