Hello,
I am trying to simulate a two story concrete structure first with 4 columns and then only with 3 with Ansys Workbench and I have convergence troubles and I am not able to apply the gravity force (the struture has only self weight) in load steps.
Any idea or suggestions?

Depending on what module you are using you may not be able to apply the gravity in the analysis. Would you please tell me what module are you using right now. So I will have a better undrestanding to answer your question.
Select "Static Structural" from the tree. then from "Environment" toolbar select "Inertial". Under this you can find "Standard Earth Gravity" icon. You can use this standard gravity or use acceleration instead. Hope this answer helps.
thanks, but what I try to do is apply the gravity force (or acceleration) in several load steps in order to find convergence. It is a non linear case so, it is not easy to make it converge.

Dear Reza,
As far as I know, there is no adjustment or setting that enables Mechanical to select the time steps smart the way you described it on 19.2 and lower versions. That being said, you can run a pilot (trial) numerical analysis for determining the starting point of high deformation and then run another analysis with properly setting the time steps.
In version 19 R1, ANSYS included a new feature in Mechanical that enables changing the solver from implicit to explicit where software is not able to converge due to having high deformation happening in the analysis. I sill have not tried this feature yet, however, read this information in "What's New" from ANSYS.
