My 100x lense is shows nothing,when i put slide with oil immerssion drop..i was working on it from many days,that time its clearity was good..n i simply clean oil with cotton cloth..i think it affects the lense..what can i do to clean 100x, to get clear image..which chemical i use,and what precausion i should take in future for its maitainance..plz suggest me..

Lens surfaces (coated and uncoated) should be cleaned with ethanol, acetone or isopropanol using soft lens cleaning tissues (see also: https://www.newport.com/n/how-to-clean-optics). Do not use any acid-based cleaning agents such as citric acid cloths since the acid would destroy the near-surface glass layer...
