Are they the same in CV, if they are the same which one is the working electrode and counter electrode
Layla Haythoor Kharboot , you can perform cyclic voltammetry in both three and two-electrode systems. For three-electrode measurement, the active material (the material of interest) is used as the working electrode, the counter electrode (Pt wire or plate) is used for completion of circuit and flow of current and the third is the reference electrode (Ag/AgCl, SHE, etc) are used.
While, in a two-electrode system, the working electrode is the material of interest and the reference and counter are shorted to use as the second electrode.
