How can zeta potential represent surface charge density?

Hi,

I have zeta potential value of a suspension.

I know that zeta potential and surface charge density is different but they are related.

I was wondering if you guys can help me to relate these two to represent the surface charge density of the suspension?

Dear Ms. Aba,

I believe that if you search this question of yours within ResearchGate that you will find some good clues about how to start. A few brief comments:

Old textbooks such as RJ Hunter's Zeta Potential in Colloid Science will walk you through how to do some calculations if you know your surface site chemistry (single site, two site (including some amphoteric chemistry). Knowing your surface chemistry is a necessary step.
Likewise you can see a few calculations on Alargova et al's publication in Langmuir 1998, 14, 1996-2003 where aqueous system of bare latex plus the amphoteric surfactant lauryl dimethyl amine oxide is studied.
