I am interested in methods for TiO2/WO3 composite immobilization on cellulose. I have tried using HNO3 (concentrated and diluted) but the acid attacked the cellulose and it became functionalized, so the system detects the cellulose. The main idea is that we wish to use the TiO2/WO3 composites immobilized on paper as sensors for organic pollutants.
Try to soak the cellulose paper with a 5% aqueous solution of branched PEI 2K.
After drying out, you can deposit your composite, which probably will remain attached to the PEI treated paper. Let me know if you succeed.

For immobilization of WO3 nanoparticles into cellulose fibers I just use colloidal sol stabilized with PVP: soak paper, dry it and obtain highly photochromic surface.
