Mie theory calculates extinction coefficients and the calculations require the value of diameter of nanoparticles. Almost all the research papers have calculated particle diameter through TEM. Can anybody kindly suggest me any solution? Thanks
Thanks for the help. But I have seen this article before. It uses Mid theory to calculate extinction coefficients. And the particle size is pre-determined through TEM. I am trying to find a method to calculate particle size solely from UV-Vis spectra.
Hi Syed! UV-Vis spectra is a qualitative way to obtain information about the form and size of gold nanoparticles. To obtain a quantitative value is necessary to use other techniques, like microscopy (TEM) or scaterring (DLS or SAXS), wich will corroborate with your UV-Vis results and consequently will give you more confident results.
