I am going to check the photocatalytic activity of CuO nanoparticles and also wants to check the photocatalytic activity of iron oxide nanoparticles ( IONPs).
Abrar Hussain To obtain a dispersed system of copper oxide and iron oxide nanoparticles, you can use safronin itself. Safronin will interact with its positive charge with the negative charge of the nanoparticles. The charge of nanoparticles can be checked by measuring the zeta potential.
You can dissolve nanoparticles and safranin dye in nitric acid solution, but to study the photocatalytic properties of nanoparticles, you have to disperse them in the safranin dye solution by a magnetic stirrer or ultrasonic bath.
thanks sir for your kind reply,@ sir Alan F Rawle, sir I actually doing the photocatalytic activity for CuO and Iron oxide NPs, synthesized by green synthesis method. I have done two times but didn't get the right result, it always give high vale as compare to initial value, when I take the absorbance through spectrometer after expose to light. so I need help in this regard.
sir I follow the same procedure you said, dissolve the NPs in Safranin dye and then check the absorbance value for photocatalytic activity, but didn't get the right result. @ Yuri Mirgorod and @ Yuri Mirgorod
