Please give me the papers or links related to the fluorescence method / technique to rare earth doped glasses?
Make the slurry of sample in methanol, paste over the glass slide, dry in oven and measure the florescence.

You can refer any of my publication, there i have done with powder of nano-oxide materials, you can do with the glass in the form of finely grind-ed powder.
Procedure: Around 20 mg sample was mixed with 1mL methanol, made into a slurry ,and spread over a glass plate and dried under ambient conditions before luminescence measurements. (refernce-J. Am. Ceram. Soc., 94 [2] 482–487 (2011))
Note: You can directly use the glass after polishing in on one side, only care should be taken that light of excitation source should fall on it.
make sure the size of the particle should be uniform...solid powder holders are available..... it contains a black holder with a transparent quartz window for PL measurements... take a definite amount of power sample all the time for each measurements...
