I am looking for documented study cases of good management of seminatural or natural ecosystems (forests, shrublands, grassland) that resulted in an improved resilience and or recovery capacity of the system. Also study cases that deal with preventing or reversing catastrophic shifts in such ecosystem would be of great help.

Natural ecosystem can be restored notwithstanding that it is a huge uphill task by integrating land, water, air, fire and sky resources by human effort and intervention but not in isolation. As for land management, it is imperative to prevent and control soil erosion by any means to maintain effective soil depth to serve as a life support system to plants and animals. This has to be followed by rainwater harvest, storage and efficient use by creating invisible micro ponds at the rate of one per each acre of land. This is done by digging a pit of dimensions in feet 25 L x 5 W x 5 D in a low lying area. The pit is filled from the bottom with clay, gravel, sand each of 1 foot thickness. Finally, it is filled with soil to a 2 feet thickness at the top. This invisible pit allows surface run off of rain water to percolate down from surface down up to clay layer from where it flows laterally to a dry zone till the soil moisture content becomes nearly equal. This stored soil moisture upwards through capillaries to support plant growth, thus improving greenery at the land surface thereby setting a chain reaction to create an ecosystem attracting diverse animal resources including the birds.
Basically, land masses is one of the biggest entity in ecosystem.which consists microflora and fauna. A huge habitat is there were ecosystem entirely depends.while components of ecosystem and their utilization / management practices decide the resilience and that couled be managed appropriately.

The land or soil is one of the important natural resource which can not create artificially. That always treaten by differant agro-ecological changes that may be occured due to various interference of human being.
