i made a solution of dye with a known concentration and i used a adsorbent to degrade this in visible light after some it degrades by color itself we can say that the dye concentration is less but with uv spectroscopy i checked both samples before degradation it saturates and after degradation it gives some value of intensity. so in this case how can i find dye concentration after degradation.

Hi,
If your initial solution give you an absrobance spectra saturated, you can dilute a small amount of this solution to have a proper measurment. But if your degradation products absorbe as well in the same range, it will be difficult to estimate the amount of your dye after degradation. Maybe consider to use HPLC-UV (chromatography coupled with UV-Visible detector) to separated the native dye and the degradation products in order to obtain a good quantification.

The initial concentration of dye gives saturated spectra and i am studying the dye degradation based on time. so when i am collecting the date after few minutes than spectra is also saturated but by color itself we can differentiate both the concentrations. it will as you suggested with HPLC-UV

you can take a sample from homogeneous solution and vaporize the known quantity of the sample. the remaining would be the dye molecules only which you can weigh.

The dye solution is in water so if i will evaporate water from the solution dye also may degrade. and the concentration is very less in stock solution it self , it is 20mg in one liter in this case dye will be very less.
20mg is measurable in high precision weighing scale. it can measure in micro grams.

What is the path length of the cuvette you are using? You can use a cuvette with a shorter path length (e.g. 0,1 cm) to avoid saturation of the UV.
Another possibility is to use other wavelengths for detection (if that is possible).
If there is no need to use the starting dye concentration you have, you can also lower the dye concentration in the starting solution.
