How can we find a same person with sevral diplotypes in CYP2D6 gene ?

please I need helpe i'm reading some articles concerning CYP2D6 and i found that in some cases when genotyping CYP2D6 some persons have sevral diplotype in CYP2D6 and I don't understand the process and can that exist ?

for exp i find a person with this genotype ( *1/*1 - *1XN/*5 ) and I didn't understand I should considred him as an Extensive Metaboliser or Ultra rapid ?? and why he gote 2 genotype ?? the first is for the maternal chromosome and the second for the paternal chromosome ..??? please I need an answer.. thank's
