In some of my research, I have used chitosan as an additive in papermaking. As the amount of chitosan used in the process as well as the amount of chitosan which remains in the paper structure is rather small, I need a sensitive and accurate method.

What is your idea about using Micro kjeldahl Method. I think we can detect it indirectly by Nitrogen groups in Chitosan. Any more information is welcomed.

May be you can use FTIR and RAMAN spectroscopy to detect any possible amount of chitosan in paper.
