According to my cellulose nanocrystal sample, it is just a free-standing film. Currently, I know its pitch by SEM image from cross-section view. However, the pitch is temporary increased by swelling effect from some stimuli. And I really want to know the new pitch from this swelling. Anyone can suggest me what kind of technique we can use for checking this "temporary pitch" ? The important thing is .... the measuring need to be done by 5 mins before the pitch is return to normal.
You can do with High-Speed AFM. but you have to plan the experiment very carefully.
Thanks Selvaraj, how could I prepared sample for AFM ? Because Pitch is on the cross-section side, not film's surface
you make the film in mica. use the blade to draw the line on top of the film and in height image measure the total height difference in the film. or using Cryo-TEM / Cryo SEM freeze the samples in swelling state and do it.
