There are different excitation signal in cst studio suite.when i was trying to simulate a design the signal was selected by default and i was unable to change the signal. can anyone help in this regard.
What i understand from your question is that you want to change either the amplitude or the phase of the excitation signal. It can be done by following method:
1.Go to 'schematic' window and introduce external excitation with 'external ports'. Connect these ports to your circuit.
2. Then go to 'new task' in the main menu a new window will open with the name 'select simulation task'. Choose 'AC, Combine results' and a new window will open.
3. Change the excitation signal magnitude as you like it. The important thing to remember is to check the combine results option in combine results tab.
4. Again go to 'new task' in the main menu and choose s-parameters.
You can go to the 'simulation' tab and look for 'signal' menu. Inside this 'signal' drop down menu click on 'New Excitation Signal'. A new window will open up and here you can choose the excitation signal of your own choice or define a new signal all by itself.
Yes i did same thing what you have said. That signal has added to the excitation signal folder but i am unable to change the default signal excitation.

Try with using equation in VBA, such as a sine wave or other equation profile then by modify the amplitude with ASCII table you can build your own extension.
hi, define your signal and it will get add in your excitation signal tree. now you define your port like discrete port. now open pic solver run template ,click the excitation signal list and mark your port for excitation and same row now click arrow mark in your right and select your signal as excitation.
