What images are suitable for Visual coaching with young people? I am a lecturer in fine arts who also want to coach pupils by means of images (photos) which topics are discussed during pupil guidance! is there picture research by and for young people?
Art can be most effectively understood, felt and taught with the help of visual aids. Today technological help can really facilitate your efforts. If you tell me the level and which grade students of students you teach, i can recommend accordingly. Best of creativity to you!

Thanks Julio. I feel art can transcend age and is relevant at all levels of education. Visual impact of the image lasts much longer in our memory.
I would advocate for any images that are metaphoric to the purpose you want your students to learn. Personally, I start with contemporary art, because these artists are living and it's therefore easier in many ways to access their thinking process. Art21.org is a great website with around 120 short video clips of contemporary artists, filmed since 2001, who talk about their work and working process themselves, rather than as framed by art historians, critics, or curators. They also post bios and still images of the artists' work. That's a rich resource and a good start.
I think the best way to teach art is by using your own imagination, let the students make an image based on words, concepts or ideas, your brain is the best visual tool, so they can start using it to create an image of what they want, belive, think or just to have fun.
Over the earlier proposals („teach art by using your own imagination”, or „by images that are metaphoric and fitting to your intent”) I can mention my teaching way by works collected from ancient Eurasian arts, see: www.federatio.org/tkte/. The line drawings coming from ancient artistic works are worthy for being used because ancient artists by their art projected the visible world into the artistic products. They worked mainly for kings and rulers, so they were the most skilled of their craftsmanship. During teaching the students activity is important and they can easily follow drawing the lines first, later by adding color and finally to design their own imaginations.
