Groundwater which are in direct contact with lagoon formation (évaporitic layers) are saline because of water-rock contact. These layers contain évaporates and salt but we can not have a rock sample from these layers in depth to do analysis so how can us determine the diffirent evaporitic minerals such as epsomite,carnalite, bischofite? Is the correlation matrix (anion cation relationship) a sufficient argument to determine these evaporitic minerals? Thanks.
I use for that, correlation matrix with a good understanding of the geological, sedimentological and lithological context of the aquifer reservoir and the host rock and therefore it helps to understand the rock-water interaction. Correlation matrix gives idea about the relation between the chemical elements which have values which approach 1.

I think also binary diagrams such as Na Vs Cl, Mg Vs Cl, Ca VS SO4, Mg Vs SO4, K Vs Cl... Can give idea about minerals dissolution. Do you have any other idea? Thanks.
